What is the Night of Large Ideas?

We are hosting a dinner theatre event called the Night of Large Ideas at the Downtown Cabaret Theatre.  As an audience member you will be introduced to the participating theatre companies and playwrights who are assigned a topic.  During the next two hours they will disappear and create/produce live theatre to be enjoyed later in the evening.  You will then be welcomed to a reception by the music of jazz musician and composer Joe Utterback.  During dinner and until dessert four comedians (Jack Rushen, Simi Cohen, Mark Burritt, and Tony Colletti) from the New York scene will enliven the audience.  We are very hopeful to welcome dignitaries who might spend a moment reminding us of the importance of reaching out to others in their time in need.  Finally, the original theatre companies will perform their masterpieces.  This event was originated by SquareWrights, the playwright center of Square One Theatre Company with the help of the Stratford Theatre Consortium.  We are very excited to have a way to utilize our art to benefit our global community.
