Playwright Center

Welcome to Squarewrights Playwright Center based in Stratford, CT.  We are a collective of playwrights who have banded together to enhance our craft, stage our work, promote our plays, and further the cause of original theatre.

Partner Organizations

We have partnered with a number of fine organizations to produce original works by local playwrights.  Here are some of them:

Square One Theatre Company has been a regular partner in the production of Fast Foward Theatre, our 24-hour theatre festival

The Stratford Library hosts Quickies in the Stacks, a collection of short original plays by local playwrights every spring and every fall since 2004.  At times the library has provided a home for our regular scene nights.

The Temple Players of Temple Beth Sholom regularly provide a home for our regular scene nights and have hosted a number of performances of original works by local and national playwrights.

Eastbound Theatre began producing an original works series by local playwrights in conjunction with SquareWrights in 2005.
